The Faculty of Nursing at Beni Suef University organizes an awareness event on the occasion of World Cancer Day

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and within the framework of the university's leading role in community service and health awareness, the Faculty of Nursing, in cooperation with the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, organized an awareness event on the occasion of World Cancer Day. This event was held under the supervision of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hanan El-Zablawy, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Sherine El-Sayed Metwally, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Iman Mohamed Ahmed, Head of the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, and was attended by anumber of faculty members and students.

Dr. Tariq Ali noted that organizing this event is a true embodiment of the university's social responsibility, emphasizing that the university spares no effort in supporting national health initiatives aimed at raising public awareness. He explained that the university is working to harness all its scientific capabilities and its distinguished medical and nursing staff to contribute to building a comprehensive "preventive culture" that protects future generations, especially in the face of cancer, which requires precise medical awareness and broad community solidarity.

The university president stressed the need to sustain these events, which successfully integrate the academic and research aspects with direct community service, praising the high organizational level demonstrated by the College of Nursing and the scientific themes covered by the celebration, from training in specialized nursing skills to providing integrated psychological support to patients and their families as a fundamental pillar in recovery protocols.

For her part, Dr. Hanan El-Zablawy Hassan, Dean of the College of Nursing, explained that the event included vital themes, including preventative measures through seminars on early detection methods and a review of the latest nursing protocols in cancer patient care and mitigating treatment side effects. She also expressed her gratitude to all those involved in organizing the event, emphasizing that "prevention is not merely a medical procedure, but a culture we build together," with a focus on the psychological support of patients and their families as an integral part of the recovery journey.
