The Crisis Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, Beni Suef University, organizes a seminar on earthquake risks and how to deal with them.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, in cooperation with the Crisis and Disaster Unit, organized an awareness seminar at the Faculty of Nursing on the risks of earthquakes and how to deal with them. The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hanan El-Zablawi, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Dr. Huda Atiya, Director of the Crisis Unit at the Faculty.
The seminar included an introduction to earthquakes, their definition, main causes, and geographic distribution, as well as the extent to which Egypt may be exposed to earthquake risks. It also addressed methods of controlling earthquakes, and how individuals should act before, during, and after their occurrence. In addition, the seminar concluded with several recommendations on protecting human lives and facilities, minimizing losses, and emphasizing the importance of raising community awareness to deal properly with such natural disasters, since awareness represents the first line of defense in safeguarding society.
